Volunteer Opportunities

Since we are foster-based and do not have a shelter, we have adoption events at the Sunrise PetSmart and our foster families bring the cats and dogs to meet potential adopters!

For those who are interested in volunteering for our organization in person, you can come to our adoption events and help find homes for adoptable pets or you can become a foster parent and care for cats and dogs in your home.

If you are interested in volunteering or becoming a foster parent, please email us at:

Our Adoption Events

We do adoption days at PetSmart in the Sunrise Village at least twice a month. Normally, we attend the first and third Saturdays of each month, however sometimes we do more events.

10309 156th Street East

Puyallup, WA

Adoption event is from 10am to 2pm.

PetSmart has three National Adoption weekends each year so we are at the store for both Saturday and Sunday for those weekends.

Other events that we attend include: Dog-A-Thon, Barkfest, and the local Pet Expo event.

To volunteer at these events, you must be at least 14 years old.  If you are between 14 and 16 years of age, then you must have an adult supervisor with you.  If you are over 16 years of age, then you do not need an adult supervisor. Children under 14 years of age are not allowed to stay with volunteers during the events as insurance does not cover them.

Become a Foster Parent

We do not have a shelter for our pets, instead, we rely on a network of foster homes to care for the cats and dogs until they are adopted to loving, committed families.

We have a need for foster homes that are able to foster kittens, puppies, adult cats and dogs. Some of these pets come from local shelters; however others come from private owners surrendering them.

Veterinary care and other necessary supplies will be provided by Puyallup Animal Rescue for the foster animals. The foster parent provides transportation for the foster pet to and from medical appointments and to PetSmart for adoption days, which are coordinated by the lead volunteers.
